Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or calling the OptikAPI endpoints you agree to these Terms. If you use the API on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorized to bind that company. During the free beta these terms apply in full; paid-package terms will be added before payments launch.
2. The service
OptikAPI provides two image services: Background Removal (1 credit per successful image) and E-commerce Preparation (2 credits per successful image). You upload images via multipart/form-data with a valid API key in the Authorization: Bearer header. Only successful operations consume credits; failed operations are not charged.
3. Acceptable use
You must only process images you have the right to use. Do not use the service for unlawful content, to circumvent rate limits, to share API keys publicly, or to probe other accounts' jobs. We may suspend accounts that abuse the platform, generate excessive failures, or threaten service stability.
4. Credits and beta limits
New accounts receive a free trial balance (shown at signup). Trial credits expire 30 days after grant. Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable. Because this is a beta, limits, pricing and package contents may change; we will announce changes on the changelog page before they take effect.
5. API keys and security
API keys authenticate your account — treat them like passwords. Store them in server-side environment variables, never in client-side code or public repositories. You are responsible for calls made with your keys until you revoke them from the dashboard. Notify support immediately if a key leaks.
6. Uptime and support
We target high availability but the beta carries no SLA. Live health is published on the status page. Support is provided through tickets; we aim to reply within 24 hours. If an upstream processing error causes a wrong charge, open a ticket with the job ID and we will correct the ledger.
7. Intellectual property
You keep all rights to images you upload and results we return. OptikAPI, its branding, documentation and the platform code remain our property. You may not copy or resell the service as a competing API without written permission.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OptikAPI is provided “as is” without warranties. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the 3 months before the claim (during the free beta: the trial credit value, i.e. effectively zero). We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost listings or revenue.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on the changelog page and take effect 14 days later. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with credit records preserved as required for accounting.
